Creating a new home is a journey of entering rest. It is your sanctuary and defines your relationship to your world, to your loved ones and an investment in yourself. @casapicasso As you embark on your journey, you want to do some research and plan accordingly, though plans will adjust along the way, as you may get better offers and opportunities along your journey. But you'll want to have a sense of what the end result will look like and how much it is going to cost. If you’ve made up your mind that this is what you are going for, you will make it happen and create a place that is uniquely your own. Consider the below tips for a successful result: 1. Set goals. Creating a new home for yourself is all about setting goals and taking the steps to achieve those goals. Goal setting requires satisfying both left- and right-brain activities. So your list of goals will include two sides: a practical side and an emotional side. Each is important, and each needs to be recognized so that the end result will reflect your totality. Simple questions to ask: 1. What do you want to achieve? 2. Where do you want to be? 3. What will this cost? 4. Can it really be achieved? 5. Does plan A make sense? 6. What's plan B? @estefaniacortes 2. Establish a budget. Budget is such an important piece that it's included here as a separate task. When making your budget, of course you'll begin with what you can afford, and how the cost of your house fits in with your overall future plans. When you're ready to get down to details, include everything that will go into the project: the cost of the land, local fees and taxes, design and engineering fees, construction of not just the home but the landscape, plus furniture and decorating. And don't forget a healthy contingency. As with any complex project, things will happen, and the road may have a detour or two. Make sure that these little side trips won't send you over the edge. A spreadsheet is a good tool to use for developing a budget, as you can continuously update and modify it as you work your way through the project. 3. Find some land — or a fixer upper house. Where do you want to be? How do you want to live? What are you looking for? Maybe you want that house in the Cunucu (nature) or close to our beaches. Find a spot that you can claim as your own and build your sanctuary. 4. Know the expertise that is around you. While you might think you can go it alone, getting tips from those around you who have already built their home helps a lot. A builder or a guide is going to be your most important help. These people will help you through the journey of creating your home. As you embark on this journey, you could likely want to add more to your group of advisors. A kitchen and bath designer or maybe an interior designer or a landscape architect. 5. Plan well. Every large project needs proper planning. Plan the project in detail before starting to build. Embark on a robust planning and design phase. Settle only until you've explored all the possibilities; you don't want to say after the project has been built, "I should a, would a ..." Go big! Not so much in size, but in ideas. Building or renovating a home, is making something that's yours. So dream and plan big. There will be time enough to deal with the realities of the budget. Sweat the small stuff. Decisions, decisions, decisions. You'll be asked to make many, just remember that God is in the details, so make sure that the details are there so that your home will be uniquely your own. 6. Accept the inevitable. You've made the plans, gotten the permits and secured the money; now the only thing left to do is build your house. Some tips for staying on track during construction: Focus and don't change your mind. Early on make all of the decisions you have to, select all of your finishes and don't change your mind. Yes, you'll be enticed by that new thing that comes along. Just remember that once construction starts, it'll cost you time, money, and perhaps a trip or two to a therapist if you change your mind. Ignore complaining. Every construction site is filled with workers complaining. After all, who doesn't complain about his or her job? Who hasn't wanted to vent about the boss? The best thing you can do is ignore it. Don't worry; if it really is an issue, you'll be told about it. 7. Enjoy your new home. You've worked hard and created the home of your dreams, rest and enjoy the work of your hands. @villajoju #arubaluxuryliving #marble #homedecor #interiordecor #buenvivir #butfirstluxuryatheart #organicliving #wellness #design

Had a hard working day at the office and managed to get stuff done - or not - Celebrate Your Day. Most people celebrate monthly, quarterly achievements or when having reached important milestones, and that is super good, but how about having a celebrative approach more often than that? At every end of workday we should be thankful for our daily accomplishments and reward ourselves nice moments, such as our home dinner with some nice Bossa Music in the background to close our day in gratitude. Set the dinner table, be it indoors or take it outdoors for variety purposes. Your loved ones - or if single, pamper yourself - will love the variety and input you put into these special moments. If you are by yourself, you will love it too. Life is about creating your own path of celebration. “If we are ever to enjoy life, now is the time, not tomorrow or next year…Today should always be our most wonderful day.” – Thomas Dreier. When it comes to your life, you have accomplished far more that you might have thought and have many more things to celebrate than you might realize. All too often, we compare ourselves to where we think we should be rather than looking at what has been accomplished and what all of us can point to as blessings to be thankful. Take a little time to celebrate the good things in your life - simply appreciate the grandeur of everyday life - while welcoming new challenges that will surely have you looking forward to the future. Instead of just making this a mindset, do also implement a habit of taking action towards this thinking and close your day off with a beautiful, dedicated tasty dinner - Cheers to life! Ahhhhh...! And prepare yourself or loved ones a different and cute drink, while you are at it...! Photo by Taisiia Shestopal

It’s probably not the first thing you think of, but design has a huge impact on performance and behavior at work. You’re not consciously thinking about it every time you enter the space, but the area you work in has a powerful effect on your work approach. Office design is about creating a space that facilitates productivity and ultimately performance. You’re setting a stage for success. There are plenty of interior design factors that contribute to a positive workspace that encourages productivity and purpose: lighting, color, plants, art, food, seating, etc.. Office design is primarily taking care of the company vision, this vision has to do with the visionary and the visionary has a certain way of being. Is this person sharp and very goal - focused, is he or she a bit dreamy, comme ci, comme ça or highly organized? We all have different personalities and that is perfectly ok, but ideal would be to know the visionary's result desire, your people or a interior decorator's specific personality and so area of gifting, and match the two by placing the right person to take care of the design. While delighting the people within your organization with great visuals, maintaining a tight work ethic - focused on getting things done - we believe would be the best combination. With the right design, you’ll tend to people’s needs and help your team thrive towards the vision. Creating a sleek, tight focus design will inspire similar performance results. Below find some samples that will help steer the desired results. Black has a powerful ability to "darken" and so remove clutter, both physical as mental, allowing a sharper focus on what is really important for your organization. Above, we see the Washington Post headquarters offices located in Washington D.C here an open space, with same sleek focus strategy allows creative media specialists, to intermingle and quickly push work forward. All materials, furniture similarities are very much available in Aruba. Above the same strategy, in this case dark grey has been used combined with sleek design - no curls or too many shelves - providing an overall cleanliness and order. This assists the tightening focus process and the "sending forth" of the vision. The combination of the wood design in the floor and desks keeps everything neat and organized with the warm touch of nature. All materials, furniture similarities are very much available in Aruba. BrowserStack Offices – Mumbai – meeting space. A seating area workplace designed for collaboration. The beautiful marble look floor serves as a solid platform carrying a combination of color, textures and styles. Great lightening, sleek panels ceiling with natural elements of plant and wood. Clean cut, effective, to the point and tasteful. All materials, furniture similarities are very much available in Aruba. White is also a favorite when aiming for focused performance. Here we see the warm wood and white modern office chair dominating the order in the room. Great concrete floor accessorized with the perfect brown/beige toned rug makes this office another favorite performance aimed design. We all aim at being more productive, increase creativity and effective multitasking. We seek apps and systems to push ourselves to maximum capability to achieve our goals. However, everything does go back to nature and the original organic design. Apps and systems certainly help us become more efficient but if your body is fatigued, not fed well and low on energy it is going to produce exactly that. Studies have shown exercise to increase productivity. Besides the fact that exercise keeps us healthy, it is shown to reduce stress, combat fatigue, improve performance and lead to fewer workday absences. It also improves sleep quality allowing us to wake rested and ready to tackle another day. PUSH YOUR LIMITS
Exercise increases your energy capacity, every time you push your limits, your body recovers and your energy capacity is increased. Not only does exercise keep blood, glucose and oxygen levels high, feeding the brain, it releases endorphins into the body giving your mood a boost. Photo: @andrewtneel YOUR PRODUCTIVE LEVELS
Busy working professionals find it hard to fit exercise into their hectic schedules, but taking time for exercise actually increases mental sharpness. Exercise truly feeds the brain, essential if you’re going to be more effective and efficient. When your brain is performing at full capacity, you focus better, concentrate more, and thus make smarter decisions.

The key is to know your productive energy levels. If a morning jog works best for your schedule, it might be your best go. Remember ladies, sunblock, sunblock, sunblock and a cool cap. Too much sun can harm your skin so if you are choosing for that inspiring outdoor jog, wear your favorite protectors. Photo: @robertharding If you say, “I am pretty energized in the morning, my energy decreases after lunch,” - and fits your schedule - midday may be your best indoor gym option. This helps battle that afternoon slump and will renew and re-energize that much needed afternoon energy level. Photo by Anastase Maragos

MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANYTHING It’s recommended to exercise for 30 minutes on five days of the week for a healthy lifestyle. Increasing productivity, progress and consistency is more important than anything. You’re exercising to increase mood and energy not strength, so short bursts of exercise are easier to stick to in your daily routine, doing just enough exercise to mentally refresh.

JOY & TIMING Choose an exercise you like, you’re more likely to keep up something you enjoy instead of seeing your workout as another chore. The timing of your exercise sessions is also very important, with an already busy work schedule most of us find it hard balancing work and family commitments. Working out at the end of the day isn’t going to benefit an already tired body. It’s recommended to exercise in the morning or at lunchtime to enhance your brain power and productivity. ESSENCE Exercise is recommended for a healthy lifestyle and the benefits of exercise improve attention span, accuracy, memory and how fast our brains process information. All these benefits of exercise enable you to make decisions quickly and thus increases your productivity. Increased productivity is noticeable within weeks of implementing an exercise plan.

Bottom line - When you feel happier and energized you’re more efficient and effective at all tasks in life and always remember: @chriscurry92 Amsterdam, The Netherlands #arubaluxuryliving #marble #homedecor #interiordecor #buenvivir #butfirstluxuryatheart #organicliving #wellness #design #healthylifestyle

As firm believers of the phrase “finding beauty in every age,” we believe that we 40+ plus age women should embrace aging. Instead of feeling ashamed of aging, we should definitely go forward empowered with it. Yet, we also believe that we shouldn’t just “let life happen to us.” There are certain actions we can take in life that will “buy us time,” - longevity in the aspect of beauty and will allow us to experience greater joy when it comes to these life processes. @saraannthornton Here are certain actions to take that, besides the fact that they are healthy for our physical body and overall health, also have an impact on our aging process. STRENGTHENING OUR CORE THE CORE is at the center of your body encompassing our abs, hips, back, and chest. Our core stabilizes your body, allowing us to move in any direction as well as having proper balance. A strong core is an invaluable asset. A strong and stable midsection can give you better balance and on the beauty aspect, a better posture. Posture inevitably makes us feel more confident and way more elegant. This in itself, automatically adds beauty to our overall image. IMPROVED BALANCE AND STABILITY Core exercises train the muscles in our pelvis, lower back, hips and abdomen to work together. This leads to better balance and stability making daily activities such as walking, running, and sitting much easier. A strong core will consist of muscles that work together to support your body. This will make us less susceptible to injuries, keeping our body aligned and minimizing strain on our muscles and joints. ELIMINATES BACK PAIN A body that is aligned and upright will make you less prone to have back pain. A person’s core is at the center of their body which supports your entire body especially the neck and the back. If a core is not strengthened then other structures of your back will have to work harder to support the body. This leads to muscle strains and back pain. Find a great 12-minute abs // Stability ball core workout to incorporate in your weekly schedule - Try at least three times a week - that will make a great difference to the way you look & feel in this age of your life. #arubaluxuryliving #marble #homedecor #interiordecor #buenvivir #butfirstluxuryatheart #organicliving #wellness #design #healthylifestyle

More and more we see nature getting its rightful place in our lives. We are eating more plant-based lately, both the esthetic and beauty industry is going more vegan based and yes the great outdoor materials are being brought more and more in our interior design projects, beautifully bringing the ‘Great Outdoors’ indoors. If you are a nature lover just as we are, we’ve got you some of our favorite finds that can serve as inspiration to your home design project when decorating with natural elements that will breathe new life inside your home. Even if your home is more contemporary a play on nature can spark a bit of creativity in any given area around the house. From the living room to the foyer, let’s have a peek at different decor cases that can inspire a bit of uniqueness outside of the traditional home decor. Hosting family gatherings within nature. Here we can see a fantastic combination of earth colors, combining the wood elements - floor and big table - with beige canvas textile and large glass doors allowing the perfect connection with the green outdoor garden. A warm bamboo ceiling covers the entire room and the brick walls makes this room a favorite Tuscan-like design. Above is this beautiful home in Brazil designed by Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan in Bahia province. Wooden floor, whether you opt for real wood or the ceramic wood tiles, perfectly matched with wood and rattan furniture pieces, bamboo ceiling and rattan lamps. Kogan chose to combine a green lounge chair fabric to match the exotic green garden. Another inspiring look is this beautiful white/wood combination. A bit more subtle with the big white walls, the very baseline to start with when choosing a natural project, is definitely to start with the floors. Here we see once more the wood look on one of the biggest surfaces - the floor - combined with the big wood beams in the ceiling. Perfectly combined with wooden stairs, rustic plant pots, rustic rug and the custom-made glass door allowing that extension with the green plants. For a more modern/abstract look, here we see a combination of again the biggest surfice - the floor - with the natural beams of wood. All natural trunk side-table combined with a modern built-in white concrete wall furniture. Make your home shower in such a way that it becomes your most deserving Spa moment of the day - every showering moment of the day should be brightening, a place of inspiration, one that sets your direction of the day, one of refreshing moments during the day and one of a relaxing closure of the day - ready for a good night sleep. Stay in touch with nature, be it with this spectacular window roof allowing you to connect with the sky. The wood elements incorporated in the design with real plants provide fresh oxygen in your home sanctuary. Great matching when choosing towels for your display combining earth and green colors with the plant, wood and rattan elements. Combine beautiful mahogany wood color design with beige limestone walls and floor. Add detailed lightning to maximize your natural favorites and create a different atmosphere in your space. Nordic style faucets set the modern mood in this peaceful bathroom. #arubaluxuryliving #marble #homedecor #interiordecor #buenvivir #butfirstluxuryatheart #organicliving #wellness #design #healthylifestyle

We all know how good being in nature can make us feel. The fresh oxygen, the sounds of the leaves, the fresh scent of the plants, the sunlight playing through the leaves, the fresh, clean air — these things give us a sense of comfort. They ease our stress and worry, help us to relax and to think more clearly. Being in nature can restore our mood, our energy and vitality. It refreshes and rejuvenates us. Not to mention, the hot temperature days we are experiencing these days it is certainly very refreshing to get wet and cool off during the day. The good news is that we can take a bit of this entire forest experience and bring it into our homes. So how does one go about creating a bathroom forest? First, find a spot. Ideal would be to have the spot either on the outside of, or very near to your relaxing space. Be it your bedroom/bathroom/closet area, so you can be in and out these areas in your bathrobe/swimsuit and own your privacy while in this space - if you live with more family members in the house. Start with a simple shower and floor installation and work your way around growing the plants that you like. Simple concrete tiles are a great and inexpensive floor idea. Fill the rest of the floor area with decorative stones. Whether you go amazonian tropical or go with your favorite roses (see below image) remember, this is your happy place and should be 100% your decor choice. Get a concrete floor or if you are a wood lover - waterproof - here is a great sample how you can design your way around your personal preferences. Make use of the facility to place your high maintenance plants around your shower to benefit their water intake. Bamboo dividers are a great way to section out your private forest space. Have your water drainage installed in such a way that the water goes directly to your plants, making them happy you visit the area, and look forward to your next shower. Have a small shelf or a part of three trunk to place your favorite organic shower gels, body scrubs, shampoo and conditioners. Don't forget to maximize coziness after a hard day of work, chasing schedule or complying with other responsibilities. #arubaluxuryliving #marble #homedecor #interiordecor #buenvivir #butfirstluxuryatheart #organicliving #wellness #design #healthylifestyle
